During this art event representatives from WWF discussed the important aspects of the ivory trade. Each year, up to 30.000 elephants are poached for their wonderful ivory tooth. Although America and China agreed to close their ivory markets, two of the biggest in the world last year, it is important to avoid a shift to other national markets.
“While a canvas lasts forever, a body painting lasts for just a few hours. Hopefully that’s not true for our elephants,” Stoetter said in a statement.
